OVERVIEW OF BASS LAKE CAMP PAID POSITIONS

Bass Lake Camp is looking for highly motivated and energetic workers to complete our summer staff. Most applicants do not need specific training as we will train the right people. All applicants will need to fill out the Employment Application form. This can be secured through our website or by scanning the QR code. All applicants must be members of a local church and be willing to undergo a background check.

COUNSELOR

Both male and female counselors are needed July 7-Aug. 2. Training will take place during our Counselor Training on July 7-9. General responsibilities include looking over the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of our campers. Applicants should be in good physical shape and having a compassionate heart toward youth. This position is accountable to the Camp Director. 

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

 This new position will have oversight of the programming and programming personnel (deans, recreation, music, etc.) of the camp. He will determine and oversee the smooth operation of each camp. Responsibilities include regular communication with Camp Director and camp speakers, recruiting and/or training workers, keeping camp schedule moving, having rooms ready for service/activity, preparing and arranging all equipment for each week of camp. This position is accountable to the Camp Director. The Program Director will be needed on site June 26-Aug. 2 although many additional hours off site will be required throughout the spring and early summer. 

STAFF SUPERVISOR

 The Staff Supervisor position is a leadership position which has direct oversight over the camp’s teen staff. This includes oversight of daily cleaning, dish room and waterfront areas. The Staff Supervisor Applicants should have a shepherd’s heart and an eye for cleanliness. This person is needed June 12-Aug. 2. (Note there is no camp scheduled for July 2-9.) This position is accountable to the Camp Director. 

LIFEGUARD

This position requires certified Red Cross training. If you are not currently licensed, we will provide compensation for you to get a license. Responsibilities include promoting safety and the camper’s welfare anytime there is activity on the lake. When waterfront area is closed the lifeguard will be assigned other positions of responsibility. This position is accountable to the Camp Director. Our lifeguard is needed June 26-Aug. 2. 

LEAD COOK

This person will work with the Camp Director’s wife in planning, purchasing and preparing meals for our campers. All kitchen workers must abide by our kitchen policy in promoting safe and nutritious food for our guests. One must be willing to work with our volunteer cooks and maintain a good relationship with all camp workers. Our Lead Cook is needed June 12-Aug. 2. (Note there is no camp scheduled for June 16-25 and July 2-9.) This position is accountable to the Camp Director and his wife.

Teen Staff

Those who have completed the seventh grade are welcome to join our teen staff. The teen staff works diligently at cleaning the grounds and are divided between dish room staff and waterfront staff. All applicants must be approved by their pastor. Also, all applicants must be present for the week of Staff Training.
